Red Ant have developed Colony, a robust accessible, standards compliant content management system. Colony has many benefits over most content management systems due to its flexibility and versatility in different situations. More accurately Colony is a content management engine, supporting multiple websites that allows bespoke modules to be added to exactly meet the requirements and needs of your website. The system has been specifically designed to allow changes and customisation, while having the stability, security and quality of an off the shelf solution.
Pages can be dynamically created, added, deleted and moved around the site anywhere in the hierarchical structure. This automatically updates the site navigation and includes the page in the sitemap. If required pages can be excluded from the navigation and/or the sitemap which is particularly helpful when creating search engine landing pages which you do not need people to re-visit.
Colony WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor is designed to be simple to use and have been designed to automatically check the content conforms to the accessibility standards every time you save the page.
The system automatically creates friendly page addresses and does not use "query strings" for content, including dynamic pages. This helps create search engine friendly addresses and improves usability. In addition every page can have Metadata created and added (overriding the site-wide tags). This combination gives the best of both worlds with minimal management but generic Meta tags and the ability to create highly specific and search engine optimised Meta tags for the most important pages of your website.
